The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ono dips to his left and cracks De Medici with an uppercut!
Ono takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

and De Medici connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
De Medici fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ono manages to avoid it.

Ono thuds his right hand into De Medici's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Ono throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent De Medici stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Its Ono seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ono shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has De Medici pinned against the cage. De Medici gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

De Medici chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ono can pounce on him.

De Medici feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Ono sprawling to the canvas! Ono rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can De Medici finish him?!

Ono walks straight into a right hand from De Medici - that's dropped him! De Medici jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Ono from any more punishment! Ono complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
