PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lou Marx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Winchester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Lou Marx has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Lou Marx seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sam Winchester!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winchester throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Marx tries to counter with a takedown but Winchester is quick to defend against it.
Marx blocks the body kick.
Winchester ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Winchester closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Marx dodges an elbow strike from Winchester.
Winchester lands a nice uppercut.

Winchester manages to break the clinch.
Marx slips a straight right by Winchester.
Winchester keeps Marx at a distance using the push kick.
Winchester throws a low kick but Marx moves out of range easily.
Marx tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Winchester was well out of range. Poor timing from Marx.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Winchester displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Marx throws out the jab.
Marx uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Winchester.
Marx scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Sam Winchester seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Winchester is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Winchester felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Marx shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Winchester is trying to defend but Marx finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Marx pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Marx has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Winchester's face.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Marx cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Marx is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Winchester can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Marx is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Winchester is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Winchester flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Marx anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Winchester and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Marx slips an arm under Winchester chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Marx has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Marx is squeezing on Winchester like an anaconda would it's prey. Winchester fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Lou Marx!
An out of breath Lou Marx thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
