Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyrone Carroll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Finn Balor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Finn Balor has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tyrone Carroll!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Finn Balor!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Balor takes the fight into the clinch.
Carroll wants to break the clinch but can't.

Carroll pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Balor throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Carroll tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Balor is in Carroll's guard.
Balor is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Carroll utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Balor is stalling in the full guard.
Carroll controls Balor momentarily but Balor frees himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carroll can't keep his opponent in guard - Balor advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carroll is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Balor moves into the clinch successfully.

Balor's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Carroll moves in looking to clinch but Balor pushes him off.
Carroll could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Balor closes the distance and clinches.

Balor jumps guard and drags Carroll to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Balor manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Balor gets control of Carroll's arms and successfully pulls guard. Balor will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Balor wants to sweep but no luck.

Carroll gets to his feet. Balor looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Carroll has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carroll lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Carroll not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Balor looking to hit a scissor sweep but Carroll is one step ahead there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Balor trying to keep a closed guard but Carroll is proving a slippery customer.
Carroll prevents Balor from getting back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Balor throws a sloppy head kick and Carroll moves out of range easily.
Balor just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromCarroll.
Carroll tries to land a front kick but Balor steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Balor tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Finn Balor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carroll clinches with his opponent.

Balor pulls guard effortlessly.
Balor is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Balor is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carroll won't allow Balor to sweep him here.
Carroll is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Carroll wants to control from the top but Balor keeps moving.

Carroll stands up and waves to Balor to follow him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Carroll tries to clinch but Balor is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Finn Balor dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Carroll breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Balor keeps the fight on the outside.

Balor looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Balor escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Balor throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Carroll counters with a series of strikes. Balor will be more careful next time no doubt.
Balor tries to clinch there but Carroll circles away.
Carroll appears to be looking for a big counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Balor.
Carroll is looking for a sweep.

Balor is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Carroll is trying to escape and Balor transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Carroll is forced to tap! Nice work there by Balor! Very nice indeed!

A pretty intense looking Finn Balor took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
