The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill slaps away a takedown attempt from McKenna, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Hill is going oldschool here, as he tries to force McKenna to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so McKenna shrugs it off.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hill lands with some strikes.
Hill has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hill cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

McKenna tries to lock up and control but Hill gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Hill rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McKenna moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McKenna shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hill sprawls well. Hill wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McKenna gets slowly back to his feet.
McKenna closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hill circles away.

Hill was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

It looks like Micah Hill has been cut.

Hill drops back looking for a leg! McKenna is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McKenna manages to kick Hill off! Hill jumps back into McKenna's guard.

Hill is fighting off a takedown attempt but McKenna is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hill to the mat. Hill regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Hill is looking to stand up but McKenna isn't so interested in that idea.
McKenna stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hill swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hill is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McKenna is controlling him.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hill manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McKenna manages to get himself to full guard.
