Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shelby Key (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robbie Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shelby Key has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Shelby Key!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robbie Rose!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rose shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Rose content to stall in guard here.
Rose with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Rose looking to sit in guard and control but Key gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Key really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Key gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Key tries to close the distance and clinch but Rose swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Key tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rose sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Key somewhat.
Key wants to clinch up but Rose keeps it at a distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Key blocks a head kick by Rose.

Rose looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Key!
Rose blocks the strikes from Key.
A lull in the action here.
The ground and pound from Rose seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Key is not content to let Rose control the position.

Rose decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Key closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Rose has Key pushed against the cage.
Rose lands a nice elbow.
Key can't get the takedown.
Rose prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shelby Key. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Key swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Rose pulls Key into guard.
Rose is looking to sweep but instead, Key has passed into half guard.
Rose regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Rose looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Rose pulls Key in close to his closed guard and prevents Key from doing any damage or advancing position.
Key throwing strikes but missing.

Key thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rose looking to hit a scissor sweep but Key is one step ahead there.
Rose is trying to control the position but Key postures up.
Rose looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Key puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Rose is trying to maintain the position but Key is very close to passing his half guard.
Key will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rose tries to roll over but Key keeps him under control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robbie Rose dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Rose lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Key circles away quickly and effectively.

Rose closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Key quickly recovers to half guard.

Rose is trying for a kimura here. Key looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Rose wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Robbie Rose!
