Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
24 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brandon Grant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
30 - 19 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eildon Heap!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Heap finds it's way round the side to connect with Grant's head.
Heap lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Grant closes the distance and clinches up with Heap, looking for a takedown. Grant pushes Heap against the cage but Heap circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jab, jab by Heap - just one landing.
Jab by Grant.
Heap displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Grant throws out the jab.
Heap throws a solid leg kick but Grant takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Heap.
Heap clinches up with Grant and pushes him back against the cage.
Heap is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Grant is defending well for now.

Heap controls Grant momentarily but Grant frees himself.

Heap utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Grant chips away with some ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Grant accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Grant content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Grant is looking to work some ground and pound but Heap has wrist control.
Grant lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Grant passes Heap's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Heap wants to control but Grant is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Heap really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grant. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Grant seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Grant looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Heap with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Grant is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Heap doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Grant.

Heap is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Grant scores with a couple of nice shots.
Grant prevents Heap from improving his position.
Grant tries to pass to full mount but Heap defends it.

Heap has hold of Grant's hands but Grant slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Grant moves in looking to clinch but Heap pushes him off.

Grant takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Grant doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Heap tries to close the distance and clinch up but Grant swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Heap moves into range and clinches up with Grant.
Heap lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
