Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Rio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rock Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Morgan's choice of entrance music: Drop The World. Rock Morgan has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Morgan drives through with a takedown into guard.

Rio looking for a guillotine here but Morgan defends easily.
Rio is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Morgan is controlling him.

Rio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Morgan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Morgan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Morgan cracks Rio with a solid left hand.
Rio wants to sweep but no luck.

Rio has his foot on Morgan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Morgan works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morgan drops back looking for a leg! Rio is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rio manages to kick Morgan off! Morgan jumps back into Rio's guard.

Rio is breathing heavily.
Rio has momentary wrist control but Morgan slips an elbow through the middle.

Morgan tries to free his leg and advance position but Rio is retaining full guard.

Morgan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Morgan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Rio closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Morgan is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rio gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Morgan takes an elbow to the temple.
Rio crunches a lovely knee into Morgan's ribcage.
Morgan wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Rio using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

Rio has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Morgan clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Rio looking to break Morgan's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Morgan remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Rio will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Rio has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Rio is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Morgan is defending well though. Rio let's go of the attempt for now.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Rio is persistently looking for the submission but Morgan is defending it well.
Morgan breaks Rio's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Morgan forces his way into half guard.
Morgan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Rio on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Morgan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Morgan is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rio!

Morgan is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rio can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Rio really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Morgan working for a guillotine from mount but Rio is in no mood to give up.
Rio is trying to escape the mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Morgan jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rio manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Morgan scores with a couple of short elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Matt Rio will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Rio has Morgan up against the cage in a clinch.
Rio blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Rio breaks the clinch.
Morgan swats away the attempt to clinch by Rio.
Rio drops his hands momentarily and Morgan takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Rio misses with a takedown attempt
and Morgan counters with a stiff right hand.

Rio is rocked!
Morgan lands with a big right hook that stumbles Rio - he's out on his feet here! Morgan follows up with another monster hook that separates Rio from consciousness! Rio falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Morgan stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
