Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Diego Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Diego Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kevin Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a combination that misses
and Sanchez counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sanchez throws a shot from downtown. Jackson moves away and avoids it.
Jackson misses with a head kick.
Sanchez looks to land a combination. Jackson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Sanchez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sanchez misses with a few strikes there.
Sanchez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Despite the aggression on Jackson's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Jackson wants to clinch up but Sanchez keeps it at a distance.
Sanchez is looking for a counter combo.

Jackson looks to score with a jab to the body but Sanchez is just out of range.
Jackson tries to clinch up but Sanchez circles away and keeps his distance.
Good leg kick by Sanchez there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sanchez gets tackled into the cage by Jackson. Jackson maintains the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Jackson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Jackson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Jackson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Sanchez's brow.

Jackson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jackson doesn't manage to clinch there - Sanchez circles away.
Sanchez misses with a few strikes there.
Jackson scores with a three punch combo!
Sanchez throws a jab when Jackson was well out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Jackson! But no joy.

Jackson moves forwards but Sanchez connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Jackson takes one on the button.
Jackson ducks under a wild hook from Sanchez.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jackson clinches.

Jackson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sanchez connects with a jab.
Jackson tries to clinch there but Sanchez circles away.
Jackson moves in looking to clinch but Sanchez pushes him off.
It looked like Sanchez wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Kevin Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sanchez looks to land a left hand but Jackson moved out of range nicely.

Jackson drives through and clinches with Sanchez against the cage.
Sanchez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Jackson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sanchez fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jackson.
Sanchez takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Jackson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Jackson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sanchez.
Jackson takes one on the button.
Jackson tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Sanchez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jackson.
Jackson throws a series of strikes that have Sanchez backpedaling.
Jackson tries to clinch there but Sanchez circles away.
Jackson tries to clinch but Sanchez moves out of range.
Sanchez throwing a counter right hand but Jackson manages to avoid it.

Sanchez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jackson.
Jackson lands with a kick to the temple. Sanchez shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sanchez dodges the punch combination from Jackson.
Jackson misses with a straight left.
Sanchez fires out a quick counter leg kick but Jackson just manages to avoid it.
Jackson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sanchez.
Jackson stalks Sanchez and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sanchez's face. Sanchez staggers backwards, shaken.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jackson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Jackson counters with a nice uppercut.
Sanchez lunges at Jackson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jackson's hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Diego Sanchez will probably get the nod.
That's time! Sanchez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The fight stays on the outside here - Jackson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jackson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sanchez.

Both fighters circling a little - Jackson finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jackson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Sanchez is defending well for now.

Jackson is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
A nice left hand lands by Sanchez.

Sanchez keeps the fight on the outside.
Sanchez swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Sanchez pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Sanchez has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Jackson doesn't manage to clinch there - Sanchez circles away.

Jackson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sanchez.

Jackson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Jackson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Jackson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A swing and a miss from Sanchez.
Sanchez thows a left - swing and a miss!
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sanchez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Nice straight punches there by Sanchez. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Sanchez.

Jackson is rocked!
Jackson walks straight into a right hand from Sanchez - that's dropped him! Sanchez jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Jackson from any more punishment! Jackson complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Diego Sanchez!
