The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ventura bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hardacre's head backwards.
We've been informed that Ventura has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Hardacre staying out of range there.
Hardacre takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Ventura misses with a hook
and Hardacre holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ventura makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Hardacre tries to throw a body punch but Ventura avoids it by throwing Hardacre back against the cage.
Hardacre tries to work over Ventura's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Hardacre lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Hardacre lands an uppercut.
Hardacre can't find room to land a body shot as Ventura controls the action.
Hardacre is trying to maintain a safe position but Ventura gets an underhook and turns Hardacre into the cage.
Ventura misses with a punch to the body.
Hardacre pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hardacre thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Ventura if he has to take too many more of those.
Ventura uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hardacre.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ventura lands a left and a right that send Hardacre crashing to the mat, dazed. Ventura thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Damian Hardacre has been cut.
No luck for Ventura with that takedown attempt.
We've been told by Hardacre's head coaches at ELITE GYM 40CAP that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Ventura fails with the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ventura drops Hardacre with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Hardacre looks back up at him and smiles so Ventura waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Hardacre circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ventura doesn't manage to clinch there - Hardacre circles away.
Damian Hardacre is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ventura takes one to the chin there.
Ventura throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Ventura fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hardacre on the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ventura throws the kick towards the body but Hardacre avoids it.

Hardacre bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Ventura with a poor takedown
and Hardacre counters with a crisp right hand that drops Ventura! Hardacre lets Ventura back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Ventura is rocked!
Damian Hardacre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Ventura.
Ventura misses with the body kick
and Hardacre rattles Ventura with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Ventura tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Hardacre dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Ventura stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Damian Hardacre!
