PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kaka Pheu Pheu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jin Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jin Kim told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pheu Pheu counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kim's knee momentarily.
Kim shoots in for a takedown but Pheu Pheu shows good takedown defense.
Pheu Pheu throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Kim shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pheu Pheu pinned against the cage. Pheu Pheu gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Pheu Pheu shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kim is trying to defend but Pheu Pheu finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Pheu Pheu thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Pheu Pheu has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pheu Pheu thows a huge punch but Kim dodges it nicely.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kim looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Pheu Pheu throws a big right hand that misses.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pheu Pheu wants to control from the top but Kim keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kim shoots in for a takedown but Pheu Pheu shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kaka Pheu Pheu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jin Kim.
Kim shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pheu Pheu but Pheu Pheu pushes him off and we're back to square one.

A nice leg kick lands there from Pheu Pheu.

Kim manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Pheu Pheu passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Kim tries to buck Pheu Pheu off but Pheu Pheu is having none of it.
Pheu Pheu works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pheu Pheu looking to finish Kim with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kim!
Pheu Pheu throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Pheu Pheu lands a heavy elbow.
Pheu Pheu is landing with some decent strikes but Kim is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
This has been an exciting period of action!

It looks like Jin Kim has been cut.
