Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dante Dinunzio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Royce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Royce is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Los-Countdown. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Royce shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Royce showed some decent athleticism there.

Royce is working for a submission of some sort.

Dinunzio avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Royce.

Royce looking for a submission but Dinunzio manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Royce postures up in Dinunzio's guard and throws a big left but Dinunzio blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Royce controlling from the top position.
Dinunzio looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Royce working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Royce looking to sit in guard and control but Dinunzio gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Dinunzio avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Dinunzio stops Royce from standing up.
Dinunzio wants to control from the top but Royce keeps moving.

Royce is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Dinunzio postures up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Royce looking for a guillotine here but Dinunzio defends easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Royce looks winded!

Royce manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dinunzio on his heels. He'll look to pass Dinunzio's guard now, I'm sure.
Dinunzio is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Royce stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dinunzio swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Royce throws a big elbow that misses.
Dinunzio is trying to control the position but Royce postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Royce forces his way into half guard.

Royce seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Dinunzio has recovered full guard.

Royce looking to improve position, pressing down on Dinunzio's thigh with his hand. Dinunzio seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Royce paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Royce's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Dinunzio picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
