Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Willy Nelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Satoru Katsuji!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Katsuji fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Nelson on the side of the head.


It looks like Willy Nelson has been cut.
Nelson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Katsuji to score with a decent uppercut.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nelson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nelson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Nelson closes the distance and clinches.

Katsuji bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Nelson! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Katsuji loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Katsuji has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Katsuji slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Katsuji tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Katsuji has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Nelson seems to have got his legs back now.
Nelson is trying to improve his position.
Nelson is trying to control Katsuji's posture but Katsuji avoids it.

Katsuji is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nelson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Katsuji has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Nelson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Katsuji yanks on the arm and Nelson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Katsuji.
