The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nixon blocks a head kick by Jackson .

Jackson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jackson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Nixon is trying to improve his position.
Jackson is staying tight to Nixon's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Nixon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Nixon regains half guard.

Well, if Jackson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nixon with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Jackson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Jackson wants to stand up but Nixon is controlling the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Nixon is looking to control Jackson 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nixon avoid being mounted?

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Nixon doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Jackson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jackson .
Jackson misses with a knee to the head.

Jackson has clasped his hands together around Nixon's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Nixon is being controlled here.
Jackson looks up at the clock and then as Nixon takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jackson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Jackson tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
You can see the frustration on Nixon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Jackson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Nixon down.
A lull in the action here.
Jackson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Jackson tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Oh Nixon is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nixon is working to avoid the ground and pound but Jackson connects with a decent elbow.

Jackson cracks Nixon with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Jackson immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Nixon is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Jackson !
