Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benedict Oneal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Benedict Oneal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bobby Jones!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Oneal wriggles free and stands up.

Jones scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Oneal pushes Jones off and gets back to his feet.
Oneal takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

As Jones tries to get set, Oneal tries to push him back and clinch up but Jones manages to avoid the attempt.

The referee calls for Jones to work.

Jones drags the fight down to the ground.
Oneal is looking to work some ground and pound but Jones has wrist control.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jones holds on and takes a little breather.
Jones throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Oneal will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Oneal wants to get up but he can't break Jones's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jones is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Oneal is keeping the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Jones moves into the clinch.

Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Oneal moves out of range easily.

Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Oneal's guard.

Jones drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Oneal manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jones has Oneal in his guard.

Jones pushes Oneal off and scrambles back to his feet.
Oneal blocks a head kick by Jones.

Jones shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Oneal is trying to defend but Jones finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Oneal makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Jones shoots in and bounces Oneal off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Oneal uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Oneal shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily.

Jones closes the distance and pushes Oneal back into the cage.
Jones is pushing Oneal up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Oneal seems keen to control Jones's posture.

Oneal pushes Jones off and scrambles back to his feet.

and Oneal counters with a head kick.

Jones forces Oneal back against the cage and clinches.

Jones turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Jones manages to end up in side control.
Oneal is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Oneal is looking to regain half guard here but Jones keeps moving and retains side control.

Jones decides to stand back up. Jones steps back and let's Oneal get back to his feet.
Jones throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Oneal on the side of the head.


It looks like Benedict Oneal has been cut.

Jones gets the takedown into side control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jones is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Oneal has escaped the position, nice work there.

Jones looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Oneal tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Jones gets in close and instigates a clinch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jones wants the takedown. Oneal is fighting it off but Jones persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Oneal's guard against the cage.

Oneal manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Jones looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Oneal lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Jones wants to sweep here but Oneal controlling him for the moment.

Jones is looking for a triangle here but Oneal uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jones fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Oneal, pushing him back against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bobby Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
