Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andy Rodgers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brock Cannon!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Hugh Johnson and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodgers pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Rodgers lands a jab-cross combination.

Cannon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rodgers is trying to defend but Cannon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Cannon thows a huge punch but Rodgers dodges it nicely.
Cannon looks to land a strike but Rodgers avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Rodgers definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Cannon forces his way into half guard.
Cannon sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Rodgers defending well though.
Rodgers is refusing to be controlled, as Cannon sits in half guard.
Cannon missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cannon is looking to advance position but Rodgers won't allow it.
Rodgers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rodgers moves into full guard.
Cannon controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Cannon wants to control from the top but Rodgers keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cannon stands up over Rodgers, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Cannon throws a big elbow that misses.
Cannon showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Cannon throws a big right hand that misses.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Cannon looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Rodgers wants to stand up but Cannon is controlling him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Cannon decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rodgers keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Rodgers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cannon on the ground.
Cannon wants to pass to mount but Rodgers is defending the position.
Rodgers is not content to let Cannon control the position.
Rodgers wants to get back to his feet.
Cannon seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Cannon takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cannon is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Rodgers blocking the ground and pound.
Cannon content just to control the position here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cannon scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Poor strikes thrown by Cannon there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Cannon sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Cannon quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Cannon but it's paid off an Rodgers is forced to tap! Nice work by Cannon.

A very excited looking Brock Cannon made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
