Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Danny Green!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Ben Hemmingworth and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rutledge went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
No joy there for Green, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rutledge changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Green tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Green shoots in for a double leg but Rutledge sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Rutledge drops down looking for a counter takedown but Green sprawls and moves away.
Green wants to clinch up but Rutledge keeps it at a distance.

Green moves into range and clinches up with Rutledge.
Green is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Green is pushing Rutledge up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Danny Green seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Green looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rudolph Rutledge is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Green. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Rutledge is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Green defends well.

Rutledge has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Green is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rutledge.

Green shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rutledge sprawls well. Rutledge wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Green gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Green is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Rutledge gets his way!
Rutledge is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Green. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rudolph Rutledge.
