The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gatmaitan throws a leg kick but Gouveia sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Gouveia scores with a jab. Gatmaitan acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Gatmaitan throws a low kick but it's checked well by Gouveia.
Gouveia throws out a counter right but Gatmaitan avoids it with no problem.

Gouveia pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Gouveia stalks Gatmaitan and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gatmaitan's face. Gatmaitan staggers backwards, shaken.
Gatmaitan takes a swing at Gouveia's ribcage but misses.
Gatmaitan has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gatmaitan tries to clinch up but Gouveia circles away and keeps his distance.

Gouveia misses with a body kick.
Good standup being displayed there by Gouveia as he connects with a hook.
Gouveia fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Gatmaitan throws a jab when Gouveia was well out of range.
Gouveia tries a head kick but it misses.
Gouveia bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Gatmaitan's head backwards.
Gatmaitan throws a lazy right hand but Gouveia sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A nice inside leg kick there by Gouveia. That's going to slow Gatmaitan down.

Gatmaitan takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Gatmaitan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gatmaitan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Gouveia can't do much from the bottom here.
Gouveia tries to buck Gatmaitan off but Gatmaitan is having none of it.

Gatmaitan tries for a kimura but Gouveia is defending well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gatmaitan is working to tighten his grip on Gouveia's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Gouveia has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Gatmaitan is really squeezing tight and eventually Gouveia passes out! Gatmaitan breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
