Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rock Mellon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dj Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rock Mellon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rock Mellon !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dj Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mellon tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Shaw defends well and Mellon ends up having to push Shaw into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Shaw looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Mellon misses with a head kick.
Shaw is looking for the big counter here.
Mellon closes the distance and clinches up with Shaw, looking for a takedown. Mellon pushes Shaw against the cage but Shaw circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
It seemed like Shaw was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Mellon clinches up with Shaw and pushes him back against the cage.
Mellon is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Shaw wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Mellon pulls guard effortlessly.

Mellon looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Shaw passes into side control.

Mellon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shaw tries to avoid it but Mellon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shaw to the ground. Shaw escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mellon jumps guard but Shaw turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Mellon stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Mellon lands an elbow inside that Shaw shrugs off.
Mellon tries to pull guard but Shaw forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Shaw tries to break the clinch but Mellon is controlling the position.
Shaw is defending well against a takedown attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mellon is working for takedown but Shaw is calmly controlling the position for now.
Shaw gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mellon .
A frustrated look appears on Shaw's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Mellon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shaw looks like he's trying to stand up.

Shaw leaves Mellon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Shaw decides to stand back up. Shaw steps back and let's Mellon get back to his feet.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mellon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Shaw is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Mellon controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Shaw is wriggling around but Mellon manages to pass to half guard.
Mellon controlling the action here.
Mellon throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mellon with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Shaw tries to kick Mellon off in order to stand up. Mellon Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mellon throws a right hand that Shaw ducks under and follows up with a left that Shaw also avoids with ease.

Mellon pushes Shaw up against the cage in a clinch.
Mellon pushes Shaw back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Mellon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mellon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mellon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Shaw manages to get himself to full guard.
Rock Mellon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Mellon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Dj Shaw.
I think Shaw has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Dj Shaw misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
