The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perry pushes Tonkov up against the cage in a clinch.

Tonkov is trying to trip Perry. He has hold of a leg but Perry is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Tonkov persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Tonkov lands a couple of digs.
Perry keeping full guard, as Tonkov tries to pass.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tonkov trying to control the position from guard on top but Perry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tonkov looking to sit in guard and control but Perry gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Perry could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Perry gets to his feet - Tonkov follows without any prompting.

Tonkov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Perry did well to prevent Tonkov getting side control.
The fighters are battling for position here. Perry manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Tonkov drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Perry dives on top into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tonkov working for a triangle but Perry defends it easily.

Tonkov throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Perry escapes and throws Tonkov's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Tonkov tries to control but Perry manages to take his back.

Perry is looking for the choke from the back position but Tonkov is controlling his hands well.

Perry is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Tonkov is thwarting Perry's attempts to control the position.
Tonkov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Perry does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Tonkov turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Tonkov manages to end up in side control.

Tonkov is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Perry has escaped the position, nice work there.

Tonkov has hold of Perry's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Perry seems comfortable defending it but Tonkov has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Perry is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Perry is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Tonkov couldn't care less - he's delighted!
