Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ahmad Alston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charli Mark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mark misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Alston appears to be looking for a big counter.

Alston manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mark on his heels. He'll look to pass Mark's guard now, I'm sure.

Alston keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mark's head.

Alston drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alston jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mark has momentary wrist control but Alston slips an elbow through the middle.
Mark really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alston. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mark looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Alston has picked Mark up and slammed him! Mark can't keep hold of the triangle and Alston manages to pass to side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alston lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mark down.

Alston stands up and beckons Mark to his feet.
Alston shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mark tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Alston paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Alston dives in and grabs Mark's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mark pushes down on Alston's head and hops out.
Mark throws a combination. Alston tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Mark looks to score with a jab to the body but Alston is just out of range.
Alston went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Mark shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Alston as he jumps to the side.

Alston closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
