The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernanes takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Szczęsny throws a big shot that misses.

Hernanes shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Hernanes is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Szczęsny sees it coming and defends easily.

Szczęsny makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Szczęsny throws a hook but Hernanes blocks it.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Szczęsny. Hernanes shrugs it off though.
A left lands for Szczęsny.
We've been told by Szczęsny's head coaches at Roosters Coop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Nice uppercut there from Szczęsny.
Szczęsny lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Szczęsny.
An inside leg kick lands from Hernanes.
Szczęsny on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Szczęsny throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hernanes swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Hernanes uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Szczęsny.
Hernanes tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Szczęsny scores with a jab to the head.
Hernanes misses with a series of wild punches.

Hernanes shoots in looking for a takedown but Szczęsny manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hernanes's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Hernanes thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Hernanes tries for a kimura but Szczęsny is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Szczęsny's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Szczęsny knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hernanes on the ground.
Hernanes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Szczęsny keeps working.

Hernanes is working to tighten his grip on Szczęsny's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Szczęsny has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Hernanes is really squeezing tight and eventually Szczęsny passes out! Hernanes breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
