Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Garfunkel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Magnus Mamba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garfunkel comes to the cage accompanied by Haifisch. The crowd seem to be enjoying Mamba's choice of entrance music: 2pac-Uppercut . Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Magnus Mamba!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mamba ducks under a wild hook from Garfunkel.
Mamba throws a hook but Garfunkel avoids it easily.
Garfunkel tries to clinch up but Mamba circles away and keeps his distance.
Mamba was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Garfunkel waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mamba.
Garfunkel walks into a stiff left hand from Mamba.

Garfunkel shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Garfunkel showed some decent athleticism there.
Mamba really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Garfunkel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Garfunkel takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mamba can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mamba has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Garfunkel is working away from the top position though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Garfunkel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mamba is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Garfunkel scores with a couple of nice shots.
Garfunkel not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Garfunkel thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mamba is looking for a sweep. Garfunkel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Garfunkel wants to control but Mamba is keeping him busy.

Garfunkel is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mamba is just riding it out for now. Garfunkel eventually gives up the hold.

Garfunkel slips a nice elbow through Mamba's hands, connecting with Mamba's forehead.
Garfunkel prevents Mamba from standing back up.
Garfunkel is stalling here. Mamba is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Garfunkel seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Mamba has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Mamba wants to control but Garfunkel is keeping him busy.

Garfunkel sneaks back into half guard.
Garfunkel is looking to control Mamba's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Garfunkel avoid being mounted?
Garfunkel is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Garfunkel gets full guard.
Mamba would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Garfunkel is trying to control the position but Mamba postures up.
Garfunkel wants to sweep but no luck.

Mamba got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garfunkel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mamba has managed to get both his arms back between Garfunkel's legs - danger averted.

Mamba lying in Garfunkel's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Garfunkel decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Mamba taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
