Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Smeer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kent Wilkinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Smeer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kent Wilkinson!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smeer misses the shot to the body.
Smeer looks to score with a jab to the body but Wilkinson is just out of range.
Wilkinson shoots in but no luck this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wilkinson shoots in and drives through. Smeer sprawls well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wilkinson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.


It looks like Kent Wilkinson has been cut.
Smeer throws a leg kick that misses.
A telegraphed right hand from Smeer misses the target.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wilkinson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smeer tries to avoid it but Wilkinson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smeer to the ground. Smeer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Frank Smeer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kent Wilkinson.

Wilkinson ducks under a wild hook from Smeer.
Wilkinson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smeer.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Smeer does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Smeer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wilkinson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wilkinson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Smeer swivels and escapes.
Wilkinson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
A swing and a miss from Smeer.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Smeer looks to throw the jab but Wilkinson is out of range.
Wilkinson shoots for a takedown but Smeer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wilkinson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The fighters circling - Smeer throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Smeer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wilkinson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smeer.

Smeer throws out a loose jab but Wilkinson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kent Wilkinson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Wilkinson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smeer tries to avoid it but Wilkinson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smeer to the ground. Smeer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Smeer pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Smeer throws a jab when Wilkinson was well out of range.

Wilkinson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Smeer sprawls well initially but Wilkinson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Smeer wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wilkinson is trying to work for a kimura but Smeer is defending well.

Wilkinson is looking for a kimura here.
Smeer is trying to get back to full guard.
Smeer makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Smeer.
Wilkinson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smeer is keeping the position for now.
Smeer is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wilkinson is controlling him.
Wilkinson slips nicely into half guard.

Smeer is looking for a sweep. Wilkinson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Wilkinson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Wilkinson prevents Smeer from standing back up.
Smeer tries to get to full guard but Wilkinson has control of the leg.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Wilkinson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Wilkinson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Smeer defends it well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Smeer moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kent Wilkinson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Smeer has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
