Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mark Ground (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Melvin Moroz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Ground!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Melvin Moroz!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Ground. Moroz does a little dance to reset his feet.

Ground changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Moroz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Ground tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Moroz is trying to control Ground's posture but Ground avoids it.
Ground happy to just control the position for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ground wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Moroz, who protects the arm well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ground looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Moroz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Moroz is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ground's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Moroz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ground. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ground in particular looking to stall.
Ground seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Moroz for as long as he can get away with.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Moroz is looking to improve his position.
Ground moves into full mount! Moroz won't be happy about that!
Moroz is in all sorts of trouble here.
Ground looking to control and managing it successfully.

Ground working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ground tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Ground looking to isolate an arm here. Moroz doesn't see it coming and as Ground extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Ground!

Mark Ground was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
