The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yearwood throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Gleason throws a jab when Yearwood was well out of range.

Gleason closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gleason lands in his opponent's guard.
Yearwood is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Gleason tries to free his leg and advance position but Yearwood is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yearwood is trying to control the position but Gleason postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gleason works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Gleason is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Yearwood defends it well.
Yearwood tries to roll over but Gleason keeps him under control.

Gleason is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gleason passes to full mount!
Gleason fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

It looks like Leon Yearwood has been cut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Gleason wants to finish this one by submission but Yearwood is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gleason.
Gleason cracks Yearwood with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That has opened up Leon Yearwood's cut even more.
