Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Julio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter comes to the cage accompanied by Applause by Lady Gaga. Don Julio will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Julio shoots in looking for a takedown. Hunter tries to sprawl out of it but Julio keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hunter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Hunter counters with a three punch combo that has Julio backing up. Julio nods at Hunter to acknowledge the strikes.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hunter is defended easily by Julio.
Julio lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hunter goes for a takedown attempt but Julio pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Julio displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hunter.
Julio raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Julio keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Julio is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Julio takes a swing at Hunter's ribcage but misses.
Julio tries to clinch but Hunter is having none of it.
Hunter is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Julio drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hunter defends it well.

Julio told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Hunter has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Julio holds on and takes a little breather.
Hunter might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Julio postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Julio is trying to ground and pound but Hunter uses the momentary lack of control by Julio to regain half guard.

Julio looks to land a strike but Hunter avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Don Julio dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Hunter looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Julio is fending him off so far but Hunter persists. Nope, Julio circles away and we're back to standing.
Julio shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hunter sprawls well. Hunter wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Julio gets slowly back to his feet.
Julio closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hunter to the mat! Hunter manages to get full guard.

Julio throws an elbow that misses. Hunter uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Julio's guard. Nice move by Hunter!

Hunter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Julio swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hunter has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hunter won't allow Julio to get back to his feet.

Hunter wants to stand and escape but instead Julio has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Julio throws a strike but Hunter rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Julio has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hunter wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Julio's closed guard. He's half up but Julio has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Julio pivots and extends the arm, Hunter falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Julio! Well done that man!
