Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Forrest Olson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Barry Black!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black misses with a wild combination.
Black moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.


It looks like Forrest Olson has been cut.
Black tries a head kick but it misses.
Black throws the kick towards the body but Olson avoids it.
Black shoots in and drives through. Olson sprawls well.
Olson seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Black shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Olson but Olson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Olson is looking for a counter combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Black shoots for a double leg takedown but Olson sprawls well. He's pushed Black's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Forrest Olson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barry Black.

Black pushes Olson up against the cage in a clinch.
Black drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Olson fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Olson tries for a takedown but Black manages to get underhooks.
Black avoiding damage.
Black looking to slow down the pace here.

Olson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Black shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Olson eats them both and turns towards Black to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Black fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Olson sprawls well initially but Black persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Black is looking to take a break and control but Olson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Black is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Olson is just riding it out for now. Black eventually gives up the hold.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Black blocks the strikes from Olson.
Black really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Olson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Black is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Olson has managed to free his arm - good work.

Black decides to return to a standing position.

Olson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Black tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Olson is in Black's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Black looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Olson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Black looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Olson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Black trying to control from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Olson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Olson seems to be working for a kimura but Black defends the submission attempt.

Black is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Olson has latched onto it... Big trouble! Olson pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Black is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Olson!
