Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryder Kylze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sergio Powell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ryder Kylze!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Powell throws an elbow but it misses.

Kylze has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Powell is trying to keep an underhook but Kylze manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Powell tries to kick Kylze off in order to stand up. Kylze Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
You can see the frustration on Powell's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Powell tries to escape but Kylze is in control.
Powell really is a fat lump.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kylze in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Powell pushes Kylze away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kylze gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Powell tries to clinch but Kylze is having none of it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Powell gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kylze to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Kylze throws an elbow that misses. Powell uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kylze's guard. Nice move by Powell!

Powell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kylze works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Powell wants to control from the top but Kylze keeps moving.

Powell stands up from Kylze's guard - Powell perhaps looking for a knockout.

Kylze closes the distance and pushes Powell back into the cage.

Powell tries a knee to the head but Kylze blocks it.

Kylze is trying to trip Powell. He has hold of a leg but Powell is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Kylze persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Powell manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Powell bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Powell wants to get back to his feet but Kylze is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Kylze drops back, looking for a kneebar! Powell looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Powell looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Powell!
Kylze tries to bench press Powell off him but Powell keeps the position.

Powell stands up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kylze looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Powell!

Powell explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryder Kylze dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kylze misses with a shot to the body
and Powell counters with a left and a right that stings Kylze.

Kylze manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Powell on his heels. He'll look to pass Powell's guard now, I'm sure.
Powell wants to get back to his feet but Kylze is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Powell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kylze gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Powell manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kylze manages to get himself to full guard.
Kylze throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Kylze can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Powell controls the pace.

Kylze controls Powell momentarily but Powell frees himself.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Powell's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Powell wanted to stand there but Kylze had control of the position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kylze postures up in Powell's guard and throws a big left but Powell blocks it.

Kylze is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Powell has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kylze off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kylze breaks from the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryder Kylze showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Kylze shoots in and bounces Powell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Powell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Kylze. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Kylze changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Powell is trying to break the clinch but Kylze is controlling him.
Powell lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Kylze as Powell tries to tie him up.
Kylze lands an elbow inside that Powell shrugs off.


It looks like Sergio Powell has been cut.
Powell jumps guard but Kylze stands there with Powell around his waist. Powell gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kylze is on top in guard.
Kylze wants to control from the top but Powell keeps moving.
Powell is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kylze is controlling him.

Powell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kylze decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Powell, up you get!

Sergio Powell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ryder Kylze is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Powell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kylze gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ryder Kylze comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kylze has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
