Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raphael Fields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wally Jose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Raphael Fields!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wally Jose!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fields leaves Jose with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jose tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fields sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jose somewhat.
Jose throws a head kick but Fields moves out of range.
Fields fires out a quick counter leg kick but Jose just manages to avoid it.
Jose wants to clinch up but Fields keeps it at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fields feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jose scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Fields could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Fields throws a strike but Jose rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Fields thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Jose is stalling in the full guard.
Jose postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jose avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jose slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
You can see the frustration on Fields's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jose avoids the strikes from the bottom by Fields.
Fields knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jose on the ground.
Jose wants to control but Fields is keeping him busy.
What's Fields going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.

Jose decides to stand back up.

Jose fails with the takedown.

Fields tries to keep at a distance but Jose has taken the fight into the clinch.

Fields has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Jose is trying to keep an underhook but Fields manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Jose kicks Fields off and gets back to his feet.
We've been informed that Jose has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Fields shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jose napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Jose is looking to regain half guard here but Fields keeps moving and retains side control.

Jose dodges the ground and pound from Fields.

Fields swings around for an armbar but Jose sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Fields's guard.
Fields is breathing heavily.
Jose's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Fields escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jose gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jose decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Jose is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
It looked like Fields was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fields closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jose circles away.
Jose leaves Fields with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Raphael Fields will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Fields counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Fields feints and as Jose raises his hands in defense, Fields changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jose keeping moving, preventing Fields from controlling successfully.
Fields throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jose works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Jose is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Fields frees his head nicely. Oh but Jose has switched to an armbar! Fields is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
