PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Nylons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Napoleon Dynamite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nylons comes to the cage accompanied by shane mcmahon theme song. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dynamite tries to clinch but Nylons is having none of it.
A right-left combo lands from Dynamite.

Nylons rushes Dynamite and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Nylons is trying to drag Dynamite to the mat but Dynamite just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Nylons breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nylons blocks the body kick.
Dynamite tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Nylons counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Nylons advances position into side control!
Dynamite is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Nylons has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Nylons stands up and we're back to a striking position.
A bone on bone clash there as Dynamite blocks the leg kick.
Nylons throws a head kick but Dynamite moves out of range.

Dynamite scores with a nice strike.
Dynamite throws a combination that misses
and Nylons counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Dynamite with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Nylons looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dynamite is fending him off so far but Nylons persists. Nope, Dynamite circles away and we're back to standing.

Nylons tries to move into full mount but can't pass Dynamite's legs.
Dynamite really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nylons. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

You can see the frustration on Dynamite's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Dynamite is looking to regain half guard here but Nylons keeps moving and retains side control.
Dynamite pushes Nylons away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Nylons gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Dynamite tries to buck Nylons off but Nylons is having none of it.
Nylons is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Dynamite looks gassed!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Dynamite is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Nylons asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Nylons swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Dynamite counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Nylons takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Nylons goes for a takedown attempt but Dynamite pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

A decent looking cross lands there for Dynamite.
Dynamite ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Nylons clinches up against the cage.
Dynamite is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Dynamite tries to break the clinch but Nylons is controlling the position.

Nylons pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nylons lands a really nice looking cross but Dynamite seems unphased.

The fight stays on the outside here - Dynamite looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The is referee keeping an eye on Nylons - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nylons has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dynamite lands a with a good body shot.

Nylons has taken the fight to the clinch.

Nylons has picked Dynamite up - he's going for a ride! Nylons dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Nylons looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Nylons tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dynamite knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nylons sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dynamite's guard.
Dynamite is looking to escape.
John Nylons overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Nylons controlling the action here.
Nylons looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dynamite with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Nylons seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nylons gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nylons, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
