Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Cabrillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James LaBrie!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabrillo lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Cabrillo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. LaBrie manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
LaBrie scores with a one two! Cabrillo had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Juan Cabrillo has been cut.
LaBrie stuffs the takedown attempt from Cabrillo. Cabrillo gets slowly back to his feet.
LaBrie jabbing away but nothing is landing.
LaBrie misses with a hook.
Cabrillo was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
LaBrie slips under a jab from Cabrillo.
Juan Cabrillo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cabrillo on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts LaBrie, as that shot connected.
LaBrie connects with a body shot that sends Cabrillo's belly button to the back.
LaBrie lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
No joy there for LaBrie, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Cabrillo counters with a stiff right hand.
LaBrie looks to land a right hand but Cabrillo moved out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
LaBrie cracks Cabrillo with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Cabrillo goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
LaBrie tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cabrillo was well out of range. Poor timing from LaBrie.

LaBrie rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Cabrillo counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Cabrillo feints and as LaBrie raises his hands in defense, Cabrillo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

LaBrie is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Cabrillo.
Cabrillo gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
LaBrie lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Cabrillo blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Cabrillo lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down LaBrie.
LaBrie wants to break free but Cabrillo has control.
Cabrillo misses with a short punch on the inside.
Cabrillo lands a damaging elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Cabrillo lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

I was talking to Cabrillo's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Cabrillo struggles to land a body shot inside as LaBrie controls his hands.
Cabrillo cracks LaBrie with a nice body shot.
Cabrillo scores with a shoulder strike.
Cabrillo throws a blind hook that connects with the side of LaBries head.
Cabrillo lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
LaBrie tries to work over Cabrillo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Cabrillo creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
LaBrie stalling in the clinch but Cabrillo improves position.
Cabrillo presses LaBrie against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Cabrillo lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of LaBrie backwards.


LaBrie is rocked!

LaBrie is still on wobbly legs! Can Cabrillo finish him?
Cabrillo creates a bit of space for himself and rocks LaBrie with a big uppercut! LaBrie tries to clinch up but Cabrillo pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples LaBrie to the mat! LaBrie covers up and Cabrillo unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Juan Cabrillo!
Juan Cabrillo spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
