The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Deleon.
Deleon closes this distance looking for a takedown but Yamada circles away.
A head kick misses from Yamada.
Deleon takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Yamada goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Yamada lands a head kick. Deleon smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Yamada throws a sloppy head kick and Deleon moves out of range easily.

Deleon throws a body kick that misses.
Yamada plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Deleon shoots in looking for a takedown but Yamada manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Deleon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Teddy Deleon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Deleon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Yamada throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Deleon's head.

Takeshi Yamada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yamada and Deleon are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Yamada throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Deleon into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Yamada knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
