Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shelby Key (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Truman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce Truman has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Shelby Key's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Shelby Key!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bruce Truman!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Ben Watson and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Key will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Truman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Key's guard.
Key really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Truman wants to stand and escape but instead Key has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Truman isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Key stacks Truman on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Key!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Key is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Truman can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Truman shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Truman showed some decent athleticism there.
Truman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Key with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Truman is stalling here. Key is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Truman seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Key has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Key manages to capitalize on a mistake by Truman to take his back!

Truman is trying to get back to his feet but Key has full control of the position and if anything, Truman has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Truman tries to break free.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Truman closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Key's guard.
Key has momentary wrist control but Truman slips an elbow through the middle.
Truman stands and throws Key's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Truman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Key knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Key is being controlled here.

Key tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Truman feints and as Key raises his hands in defense, Truman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Key will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Truman wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Key is standing up over Truman. Truman looks to escape but Key dives into side control.

Well Truman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
