Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Hillman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyoji Anzai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Hillman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyoji Anzai!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hillman moves in looking to clinch but Anzai pushes him off.

Hillman instigates a clinch.

Anzai pulls guard.
Hillman stops Anzai from standing up.
Hillman wants to stand but Anzai is controlling his posture from full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Anzai can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hillman trying to control but Anzai is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hillman looking to pass the guard.
Hillman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Hillman slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Anzai is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hillman throws a big right hand that misses.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Anzai being controlled here, momentarily.
Hillman wanted to stand there but Anzai had control of the position.
Hillman chips away with some ground and pound.

Anzai escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hillman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Anzai is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Anzai fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hillman, pushing him back against the cage.

Hillman drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Anzai gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Anzai postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hillman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Anzai, into his guard.

Anzai wants to sweep here but Hillman controlling him for the moment.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Anzai trying to keep a closed guard but Hillman is proving a slippery customer.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Hillman will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Anzai has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hillman wants to get back to striking at distance but Anzai won't allow it.

Hillman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hillman misses with a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hillman darts in looking for a takedown but Anzai gets double underhooks and turns Hillman into the cage.
Anzai raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Good leg kick by Anzai there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Hillman tries to clinch there but Anzai circles away.
Hillman has a takedown stuffed.

Hillman tries to clinch but Anzai is having none of it.
Anzai tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hillman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Anzai escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Anzai breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hillman is looking for a counter combo.
Anzai scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Anzai connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hillman momentarily.
Kyoji Anzai is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hillman fails to land the takedown.
Anzai only half commits to the counter leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Hillman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Anzai has Hillman up against the cage in a clinch.
Anzai tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hillman smiles and moves away.
Hillman tries to bum rush Anzai with a series of wild strikes but Anzai uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Anzai throws a series of strikes that have Hillman backpedaling.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Anzai lands with a thumping leg kick.
Hillman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Hillman throws a big counter combination but Anzai scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Hillman tries to clinch up but Anzai circles away and keeps his distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hillman.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hillman tries to clinch but Anzai moves out of range.
Anzai throws a fast counter high kick but Hillman manages to duck under it in time.

Anzai is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hillman gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Anzai lands a body punch.

Anzai not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Hillman avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Anzai.

Anzai is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hillman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Anzai.
Anzai seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Anzai looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Hillman is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Anzai pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kyoji Anzai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Anzai drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hillman is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Anzai is defending well.

Anzai pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Anzai goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Hillman shoots in looking for a takedown but Anzai manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hillman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Hillman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hillman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hillman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Anzai unleashes a big counter combination but Hillman bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
No joy there for Anzai, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hillman shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Anzai keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Anzai clinches with his opponent.
Anzai is looking for a takedown.
Anzai jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hillman walks away with a smile on his face. Anzai gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hillman has his takedown stuffed
and Anzai counters with a head kick. That will keep Hillman thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!


Hillman is rocked!
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Anzai moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Hillman! Anzai continues to tee off on Hillman, landing with a left and a right! Anzai connects with a right hand that leaves Hillman sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Anzai!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kyoji Anzai!
