Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Hillman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Casey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carl Casey will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hillman has Casey up against the cage in a clinch.
Casey wants to stall.

Casey breaks the clinch.
Hillman shoots in looking for a takedown but Casey manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hillman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hillman tries to clinch but Casey moves out of range.
Casey lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Hillman shoots in for a double leg but Casey sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Hillman seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Casey for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Carl Casey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jack Hillman.
