Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Anderson Plouman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Aiken Abbott!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plouman checks a leg kick nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Abbott. Plouman does a little dance to reset his feet.
Plouman doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Abbott counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Plouman shoots in and bounces Abbott off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We've been hearing that Plouman has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Abbott keeping moving, preventing Plouman from controlling successfully.
Plouman working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Abbott can do anything to dispel that myth.

Plouman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Abbott swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Plouman won't allow Abbott to get back to his feet.
Plouman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Plouman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Plouman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Abbott looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Abbott controls Plouman momentarily but Plouman frees himself.
Abbott is pulling down on Plouman's head to control his posture.
Plouman controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Abbott looking to hit a scissor sweep but Plouman is one step ahead there.
Plouman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Plouman is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Abbott has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Plouman is working away from the top position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Plouman blocks a head kick by Abbott.
Plouman changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Plouman on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Plouman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Abbott sprawls well. Abbott wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Plouman gets slowly back to his feet.
Plouman misses with a takedown attempt - Abbott sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Plouman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Abbott tries to avoid it but Plouman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Abbott to the ground. Abbott escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Plouman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Abbott throws a low kick but Plouman avoids it.
Abbott throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Plouman.

Plouman walks forward, straight into a front kick from Abbott.
A nice inside leg kick there by Abbott. That's going to slow Plouman down.
Plouman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Abbott circles away.
Aiken Abbott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Good work by Plouman as he checks the leg kick.
Plouman blocks the body kick.
Abbott misses with an uppercut. Plouman saw that one coming.
Plouman takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Abbott misses with a wild body shot.
Plouman throwing a counter right hand but Abbott manages to avoid it.
Abbott throws a head kick that Plouman semi-blocks.
Abbott defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Plouman.
Abbott unleashes a big counter combination but Plouman bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

A head kick misses from Abbott.
Abbott connects with a solid leg kick.
Abbott tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Plouman is able to avoid easily.
Plouman appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Abbott throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Plouman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Abbott was covering up waiting for the punch and Plouman finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Plouman drops back looking for a leg! Abbott is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Abbott manages to kick Plouman off! Plouman jumps back into Abbott's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Abbott is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Plouman is controlling him.
Abbott not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Plouman keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Abbott's head.

Plouman drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Plouman seems to have locked his on tight now - Abbott screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Plouman, as he picks up the win!
