The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stallone feints a jab promting McDonald to slip. Stallone then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. McDonald slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
McDonald plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Stallone looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McDonald is fending him off so far but Stallone persists. Nope, McDonald circles away and we're back to standing.
A big right from McDonald misses.
A left lands for McDonald.
Both fighters circling a little - McDonald finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

McDonald moves into range and clinches up with Stallone.
Stallone misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A right hand to the body from McDonald.
McDonald blocking some punches.

McDonald breaks the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McDonald looks to score with a jab to the body but Stallone is just out of range.

Stallone has a takedown stuffed.
McDonald fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Stallone on the side of the head.
McDonald lands with a shot to the body.
Maurice McDonald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stallone gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Stallone tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. McDonald manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Stallone shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and McDonald finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Maurice McDonald has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sly Stallone.
Stallone looks winded!
McDonald connects with a solid leg kick.
Stallone shoots in for a takedown but McDonald shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

McDonald works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

McDonald throws a quick inside leg kick.
McDonald throws a right and a left that Stallone avoids nicely.
Stallone steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from McDonald.
McDonald jabs at Stallone's body.
The fighters circle, before McDonald throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Stallone's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! McDonald lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
