Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Scott Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raizer Sorrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sorrow has chosen DMX - Slippin' get the fuck up as his entrance music. Scott Page has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Scott Page!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raizer Sorrow!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Page throws a leg kick that is checked
and Sorrow cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Sorrow looking to score a takedown here. Page is defending well but Sorrow drives through and ends up in Page's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Page keeping moving, preventing Sorrow from controlling successfully.
Page looking for a sweep. Not yet Page, not yet.
Sorrow throws a big right hand that misses.
Sorrow loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Page has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sorrow stopping the sweep attempt from Page.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Page tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Sorrow with a flurry of punches that miss.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Page holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Page avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Scott Page seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice leg kick lands there from Page.
Sorrow shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Page pinned against the cage. Page gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Page lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Page lands a nice looking body shot.

Sorrow drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sorrow works over Page with some ground and pound from guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Page is on top in guard.

Sorrow is trying to keep Page in close.
Sorrow working a defensive guard but Page manages to pass into side control anyway.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sorrow is trying to control Page's posture but Page avoids it.

Page working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

You can see the frustration on Sorrow's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Sorrow tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Page trying to control the action but Sorrow is working from the bottom.

Page wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sorrow, who protects the arm well.
Page just content to control the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sorrow sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Page trying to control from half guard but Sorrow is working away.
Page is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sorrow is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Sorrow looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Sorrow trying to control from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Page winds up and cracks Sorrow with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Page is pressing down on Sorrow's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sorrow is holding on for now.
Page prevents Sorrow from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Scott Page will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Page feints and then cracks Sorrow's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sorrow down.
Sorrow misses with a takedown attempt

Sorrow misses with a straight right.
Page dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sorrow. That did some damage!
Page fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Sorrow is out of range.
Sorrow is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Page cracks the inside of Sorrow's front leg.
Page cracks Sorrow with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That kick from Page tenderised Sorrow's leg. Sorrow is trying to keep his angry face on.
Sorrow takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Page takes a swing at Sorrow's ribcage but misses.
Page tries to bum rush Sorrow with a series of wild strikes but Sorrow uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Page misses with a body shot
and Sorrow counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Page cracks a nice hook into Sorrow's ribs.
Page is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sorrow can do to turn this around?

Page misses the shot to the body.
Sorrow on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Page. Page obviously looking to wear him down.
Sorrow misses the jab.
Sorrow looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Page is fending him off so far but Sorrow persists. Nope, Page circles away and we're back to standing.
Page waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sorrow.
Page misses with a straight left.
Page throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Sorrow counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Page throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Page is looking to wear down Sorrow with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Page scores with a leg kick.
Sorrow moves out of range of the leg kick from Page.
Sorrow swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Sorrow keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Sorrow is looking to clinch but Page is avoiding it.
Page stuffs the takedown.
Page tried to counter with a leg kick but Sorrow avoided it.
Scott Page has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raizer Sorrow.
Sorrow scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Page lands a glancing blow to the side of Sorrow's head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Page tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sorrow was well out of range. Poor timing from Page.
Sorrow shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Page as he jumps to the side.
Sorrow throws a body punch but Page moves out of range.
Page misses with a looping left.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Sorrow! But no joy.

Sorrow drives through with a takedown into Page's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Page looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sorrow keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Page's head.
Page looking for a sweep. Not yet Page, not yet.

Page has his foot on Sorrow's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sorrow works his way back into a safe position though.

Raizer Sorrow has got the better of the ground game so far.

Page has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sorrow is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Page.

Sorrow wants to control but Page is keeping him busy.
Page is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Netherlands Top Team, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Page is trying to control Sorrow's posture but Sorrow avoids it.
Page is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Sorrow is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Page has escaped the position, nice work there.
Page wants to control but Sorrow postures up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Sorrow swings around for an armbar but Page sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Sorrow's guard.
Page looking to pass the guard.
Sorrow is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sorrow is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Page passes into half guard.
Page sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Sorrow is concentrating on defense, preventing Page from advancing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Page leaves Sorrow with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Sorrow moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Page moves out of range as Sorrow strikes.
Sorrow gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Page throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Good leg kick by Page there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Page throws a low kick but it's checked well by Sorrow.

Page misses with the combination.
Page tries to land a leg kick but Sorrow saw it coming and moves away.

Sorrow is trying hard to land a takedown here. Page sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Scott Page has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raizer Sorrow.

Page throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Page swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sorrow changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Page tries to avoid it but Sorrow manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Page to the ground. Page escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sorrow tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Sorrow looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Page is fending him off so far but Sorrow persists. Nope, Page circles away and we're back to standing.

Sorrow looks to throw the jab but Page is out of range.
Sorrow's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Sorrow wants to clinch.
Sorrow shoots for a takedown but Page saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Sorrow has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Page to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Sorrow is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Page pulls down on the head and he's put Sorrow to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Scott Page!
