The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Escobar closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Machado's guard.
Escobar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Machado is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Escobar drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Escobar jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Machado bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Escobar's guard.

Machado is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Machado is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Escobar!

Machado is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Escobar is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Escobar flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Machado anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Escobar and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Machado slips an arm under Escobar chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Machado has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Machado is squeezing on Escobar like an anaconda would it's prey. Escobar fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
