PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between RR Combis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sven Cliff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cliff has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Combis throws a head kick that misses.
Combis tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Cliff has closed the distance and engaged Combis in a clinch.
A right hand to the body from Cliff.
Cliff is pressed up against the cage. Combis has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cliff down to the mat. Cliff avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Cliff dives in and grabs Combis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Combis pushes down on Cliff's head and hops out.

Combis moves into the clinch successfully.

Combis manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Cliff must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cliff stands and steps away. Combis gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Horrible takedown attempt by Combis or perhaps it was just good defense by Cliff, which made it look bad.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Cliff just misses with a elbow thrown towards Combis's brow.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cliff has clasped his hands together around Combis's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Combis is looking to regain half guard here but Cliff keeps moving and retains side control.
Cliff cracks Combis with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Cliff stands up and beckons Combis to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sven Cliff dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Cliff shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
As Cliff looks to move away, Combis throws a big counter combo bu Cliff just gets out of the way.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Combis connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Cliff to the floor! Combis dives in looking for the finish!

Cliff is rocked!

It looks like Sven Cliff has been cut.
Combis lands a big elbow - Cliff is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Combis!
