Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mario Pala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Arman Olsson!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pala will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pala dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Olsson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pala sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A little feinted left hand from Pala on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Olsson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pala.
Pala tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Olsson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Pala tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Olsson controls from within his opponent's guard.
Pala is pulling down on Olsson's head. It's preventing any offense from Olsson, at least for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Olsson manages to break the clinch.

Pala feints and as Olsson raises his hands in defense, Pala changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Pala is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Olsson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pala wants to pass the guard but Olsson is keeping the position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

That was a close round but I would say that Mario Pala will probably get the nod.

Olsson throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Pala darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pala in particular looking to stall.

Pala is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Olsson can do to turn this around?

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Pala shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Pala was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pala is looking to take a break and control but Olsson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

No joy there for Pala, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Olsson throws the kick towards the body but Pala avoids it.
Pala misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Pala bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Olsson's head.
