Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pyyno Janis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pauli Laiskiainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pauli Laiskiainen struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 267.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Pauli Laiskiainen will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laiskiainen forces Janis back against the cage and clinches.
Janis tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Laiskiainen smiles and moves away.

Laiskiainen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Janis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Janis cracks Laiskiainen with a big right hand but Laiskiainen just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Janis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Janis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Janis working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Janis swings around for an armbar but Laiskiainen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Janis's guard.

Janis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Laiskiainen manages to get himself to full guard.

Janis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Laiskiainen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Janis winds up and cracks Laiskiainen with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Laiskiainen is refusing to be controlled, as Janis sits in half guard.

Laiskiainen flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Janis works his way into full mount!
Janis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Laiskiainen is bucking up trying to escape but Janis cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
