Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harry Wates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scamus Kilpatrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Harry Wates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Scamus Kilpatrick !
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Glass and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wates fails with the takedown.
Wates misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kilpatrick looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Wates definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Wates closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kilpatrick circles away.
Kilpatrick throws a counter combo.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Harry Wates. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kilpatrick 's corner calls for a 1-2. Kilpatrick obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Wates shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kilpatrick as he jumps to the side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kilpatrick feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kilpatrick wanted to stand there but Wates had control of the position.

Wates controls Kilpatrick momentarily but Kilpatrick frees himself.

Kilpatrick stands up and waves to Wates to follow him.

Kilpatrick instigates a clinch.
Kilpatrick lands with a short shot to the head.

Kilpatrick breaks from the clinch.

Kilpatrick throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wates was covering up waiting for the punch and Kilpatrick finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wates has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Kilpatrick has passed into side control.
Wates tries to improve position but can't.
Kilpatrick working away.
Wates is trying to buck Kilpatrick off.

Wates is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Wates stuck in half guard on the bottom here.
Kilpatrick looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Wates is avoiding damage well.
Wates parries the strikes from Kilpatrick easily there. Kilpatrick is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Wates to escape.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Wates struggling a bit here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Kilpatrick doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Wates counters with a two punch combo.
Wates stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wates wants it to stay on the feet.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Wates.

Wates gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kilpatrick to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Wates wants to get back to his feet but Kilpatrick passes into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scamus Kilpatrick dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Kilpatrick gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kilpatrick tries for a takedown but Wates manages to get underhooks.
Kilpatrick keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Wates's efforts to push away.

Kilpatrick gets control of Wates's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kilpatrick will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wates won't allow Kilpatrick to sweep him here.
Wates trying to control but Kilpatrick is working from the bottom.
Wates looking to sit in guard and control but Kilpatrick gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kilpatrick won't allow Wates to sweep him here.
Wates has momentary wrist control but Kilpatrick slips an elbow through the middle.
Kilpatrick has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Wates is proving hard to escape from.
Wates keeping moving, preventing Kilpatrick from controlling successfully.
Wates is trying to control the position but Kilpatrick postures up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kilpatrick is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Wates is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Kilpatrick shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Wates throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kilpatrick was covering up waiting for the punch and Wates finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kilpatrick is wriggling around but Wates manages to pass to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kilpatrick can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wates working over Kilpatrick with some ground and pound. Kilpatrick looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Kilpatrick is staying active underneath Wates, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Scamus Kilpatrick has got the better of the ground game so far.
Wates missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Wates is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kilpatrick blocking the ground and pound attempt from Wates.

Kilpatrick manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Wates keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Kilpatrick pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Wates stuffs the takedown.
As Kilpatrick looks to move away, Wates throws a big counter combo bu Kilpatrick just gets out of the way.
Harry Wates has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scamus Kilpatrick .
Kilpatrick is breathing heavily.
Wates throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kilpatrick .
Wates shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kilpatrick but Kilpatrick pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Harry Wates is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wates throws a right and a left that both miss.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Harry Wates will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


No luck for Wates with that takedown attempt.
Kilpatrick closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wates circles away.
Kilpatrick lands with a kick to the temple. Wates shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Kilpatrick dives in for a single leg takedown but Wates sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Kilpatrick has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Wates throws a push kick but Kilpatrick slaps the foot to one side.
Kilpatrick moves in looking to clinch but Wates pushes him off.
Wates fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Wates shoots in for a double leg but Kilpatrick sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Kilpatrick changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Wates attempts a counter takedown but Kilpatrick avoids it well and moves away.

Kilpatrick rushes Wates and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Kilpatrick looking for a sweep. Not yet Kilpatrick , not yet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Wates wants to get back to striking at distance but Kilpatrick won't allow it.

Wates jumps guard and drags Kilpatrick to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Wates wants to hit a switch here but Kilpatrick passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Wates there!
Wates gets back to half guard.
Kilpatrick wants to pass to mount but Wates is defending the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wates tries to get to full guard but Kilpatrick has control of the leg.

Kilpatrick decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Scamus Kilpatrick comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kilpatrick has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
