PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Mouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mouse might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mickey Mouse clubhouse. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris tries to clinch
and Mouse counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Harris doesn't manage to clinch there - Mouse circles away.
Sloppy strikes from Harris. Those never looked like landing.
Harris misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Mouse counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Harris down! Mouse is looking to finish but Harris is intelligently defending himself.

Harris is rocked!

Harris has his feet on Mouse's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd cheers as Mouse lands an impressive looking overhand right. Harris doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Richard Harris has been cut.
Harris throws a combination. Mouse tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Mouse lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Harris enables Mouse to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Harris manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Mouse has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Harris pushes Mouse off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Harris does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

enabling Mouse to counter with a crisp jab.

Mouse drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Harris wants to stand but Mouse is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mouse drops back, looking for a kneebar! Harris looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Harris looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Harris!

Harris has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Harris lands with a nice combination. Mouse backs away looking to recover.

Mouse stuns Harris with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Mouse has Harris up against the cage in a clinch.
Mouse wants to take the fight to the mat but Harris manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Harris is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Harris breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Richard Harris is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Mouse is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Harris's half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mouse is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Harris doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mouse.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

That was a close round but I would say that Mickey Mouse will probably get the nod.

Mouse has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Harris avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Mouse shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Harris throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Mouse.

The ground and pound from Mouse seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Harris gets caught napping as Mouse dives in and scores a takedown. Harris manages to retain guard.

Mouse drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Harris manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mouse has Harris in his guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Harris throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mouse.
Harris will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mickey Mouse.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mouse, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
