Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mel Huff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mean Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mean Green has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mel Huff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mean Green!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green blocks a head kick by Huff.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Green! But no joy.

Huff feints and as Green raises his hands in defense, Huff changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Green is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Huff missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Huff scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Huff connects with a couple of short punches.
Huff trying to control the position from guard on top but Green is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Huff's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Huff has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Green has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Huff can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Huff accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

As Green tries to get set, Huff tries to push him back and clinch up but Green manages to avoid the attempt.

Huff postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Huff trying to control but Green is working from the bottom.

Huff lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Huff might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Green looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Huff has picked Green up and slammed him! Green can't keep hold of the triangle and Huff manages to pass to side control!

Green wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Green really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Huff. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Huff explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Green throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Huff dives in and grabs Green's left leg, looking for a takedown. Green pushes down on Huff's head and hops out.
Green wants to counter with a clinch but Huff pushes him away.

Green closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Huff is trying to stand up here but Green is controlling him well.

Green is looking to stall here but Huff recovers full guard.

Green stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Huff swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Huff is adopting a defensive guard.
Mel Huff overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Huff is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Huff manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Green presses Huff against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Green has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Green lands a takedown into guard.

Huff wriggles free and stands up.
Mean Green is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Green tries to clinch there but Huff circles away.

Green looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Huff manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Green keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Green is breathing heavily.
Huff is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Green to keep the fight standing.

Green has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Huff uses from the top position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mel Huff will probably get the nod.

The referee is taking a good look at Green as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Huff!
Huff is trying to stick to Green's back but Green is turning into Huff. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Huff's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Green.

Green is fighting to break Huff's control of his arms but Huff is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Green must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Green is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Huff is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Huff has escaped and now he's on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mel Huff showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Huff, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
