Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Niklas Nyysonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Niklas Nyysonen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Paul Walker!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nyysonen closes the distance and clinches.
Walker tries to pull guard but Nyysonen holds him up against the cage and eventually Walker drops back down to his feet.
Nyysonen blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Nyysonen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Nyysonen clinches with his opponent.
Nyysonen has Walker pushed against the cage.
Walker on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Walker tries to pull guard but Nyysonen forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Nyysonen tries to pull guard but Walker holds him up against the cage and eventually Nyysonen drops back down to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walker wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Nyysonen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Walker closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Nyysonen's guard.
Walker's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Nyysonen is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Nyysonen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Walker pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nyysonen is keeping the position for now.

Walker drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Nyysonen dives on top into guard.
Walker lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Walker trying to control the position from guard on top but Nyysonen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Walker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Nyysonen can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Walker controls the pace.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nyysonen controlling the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Walker shoots in looking for a takedown but Nyysonen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Walker's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Niklas Nyysonen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Walker.
Nyysonen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Walker's waist but Walker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nyysonen off to one side.

Walker gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Walker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nyysonen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Nyysonen wants to pass the guard but Walker is keeping the position.
Nyysonen won't allow Walker to sweep him here.
Nyysonen controls from within his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walker keeping moving, preventing Nyysonen from controlling successfully.

Nyysonen sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Walker's guard.
Nyysonen is controlling the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nyysonen is defended easily by Walker.

Walker shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nyysonen napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Walker slows the pace down.
Nyysonen gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Walker is looking for a kimura but Nyysonen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Walker to get the leverage.
Nyysonen is looking for a sweep. Walker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Walker drops an elbow to the side of Nyysonen's head.
Nyysonen tries to roll over but Walker keeps him under control.
Walker wants to take a breather but Nyysonen is having none of it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nyysonen pushes Walker off looking to stand but Walker dives back in and keeps control.

Walker is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Nyysonen has managed to free his arm - good work.
Walker lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Paul Walker will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Walker looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Nyysonen wants to sweep but no luck.
Nyysonen can't keep his opponent in guard - Walker advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Nyysonen missing with punches from the bottom.
Nyysonen makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nyysonen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walker tries to stand but Nyysonen is controlling from the bottom.
Nyysonen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Walker is controlling him.

Walker gets to his feet. Nyysonen looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Nyysonen is looking to clinch.
Walker shoots in for a double leg but Nyysonen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A head kick misses from Nyysonen.
Niklas Nyysonen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Nyysonen gets caught flat footed, as Walker shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Walker advances position into side control!
Nyysonen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Walker tries to move to mount but Nyysonen blocks the move with his legs.

Walker is trying to get an arm triangle but Nyysonen is defending well.
Nyysonen can't do much from the bottom here.
Walker tries to advance to mount but can't.

Walker looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Walker trying to control the action but Nyysonen is working from the bottom.
Nyysonen pushes Walker away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Walker gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Nyysonen is looking to reverse the position.
Nyysonen is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Walker off and has taken his back!
Nyysonen trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Walker doesn't escape.
Walker trying to control the hands but Nyysonen breaks the grip.
Walker manages to reverse the position and now he's in Nyysonen's guard. Nice work there by Walker.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Nyysonen clinches with his opponent.

Nyysonen gets control of Walker's arms and successfully pulls guard. Nyysonen will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Walker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Nyysonen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nyysonen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Walker is one step ahead there.

Walker wants to control from the top but Nyysonen keeps moving.
Walker has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Nyysonen is proving hard to escape from.

Walker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Walker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Nyysonen has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Walker should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Nyysonen has tightened it up now! Walker should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
