PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fredric Brannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iswan Dono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fredric Brannon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Iswan Dono!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Dono there.
Dono throws a body shot but no joy.
Brannon tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dono paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Brannon throws a combination. Dono tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Dono has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Brannon thows a leg kick but Dono checks it
and Dono counters with an outside leg kick.
Nice straight punches there by Dono. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Dono.
A clash of legs there as Dono blocks the low kick.
Brannon slips a jab and a cross from Dono.

Dono replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Brannon blocks it well.

Brannon lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Dono backs up against the cage.
Dono lets loose with a powerful body kick. Brannon will feel that in the morning.
Dono is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Brannon crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Dono - the referee stops the clock and Brannon gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Dono. Brannon manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Iswan Dono showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Brannon looks for the body kick but Dono saw that one coming.

and Dono holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Brannon is trying to drag Dono to the mat but Dono just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Brannon is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dono pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Brannon throws an elbow that misses. Dono uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Brannon's guard. Nice move by Dono!

Iswan Dono comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Dono winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
