Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Castillion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erik Meen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miguel Castillion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Erik Meen!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've been hearing reports that Castillion has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Meen dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Castillion. That did some damage!
Erik Meen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Some bone on bone action there as Castillion checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Meen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Miguel Castillion will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Erik Meen's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Castillion darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Castillion will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Meen lands a right hook to the body.
Castillion sizes up Meen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Castillion moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Castillion takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Castillion lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


That has opened up Erik Meen's cut even more.
Castillion throws a shot from downtown. Meen moves away and avoids it.

Meen leaves Castillion with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Castillion closes this distance looking for a takedown but Meen circles away.
Castillion throws a lazy right hand but Meen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Meen throws a solid leg kick but Castillion takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Meen.
Erik Meen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Castillion is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Meen just misses with a elbow thrown towards Castillion's brow.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Meen in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Oh Castillion is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Meen creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Castillion with a big uppercut! Castillion tries to clinch up but Meen pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Castillion to the mat! Castillion covers up and Meen unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
