The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
ONeill fails to land the takedown.

ONeill has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pearson is proving hard to escape from.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

ONeill bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
ONeill shoots in for a double leg but Pearson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ross Pearson.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pearson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
