Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mikko Haapalainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Thachticov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haapalainen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lentävä Kalakukko. Thachticov has chosen Lil Jon - Get Crunk as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haapalainen wants to clinch
and Thachticov counters with a nice uppercut.
Thachticov throws a series of strikes that have Haapalainen backpedaling.
It looks like Mikko Haapalainen has been cut.
Thachticov thuds a left hand into Haapalainen's body.
A bone on bone clash there as Haapalainen blocks the leg kick.
Haapalainen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Thachticov sprawls well initially but Haapalainen persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Haapalainen wants to work for an arm triangle but Thachticov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Haapalainen perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Haapalainen is trying to control. Thachticov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Haapalainen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Thachticov looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Haapalainen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Thachticov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Haapalainen.
Thachticov is defending against the submission attempts here by Haapalainen.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Haapalainen wants to take a breather but Thachticov is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Thachticov tries to get to full guard but Haapalainen has control of the leg.
Haapalainen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mikko Haapalainen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Haapalainen tries to keep at a distance but Thachticov has taken the fight into the clinch.
Haapalainen landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Thachticov wants to get back to striking at distance but Haapalainen won't allow it.

Thachticov wants to break the clinch but can't.
Thachticov has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Haapalainen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Thachticov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Haapalainen tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Thachticov defends well and Haapalainen ends up having to push Thachticov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Thachticov looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Haapalainen dives in and grabs Thachticov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Thachticov pushes down on Haapalainen's head and hops out.
Haapalainen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mikko Haapalainen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thachticov throws a hook to the side of Haapalainen's head but Haapalainen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Thachticov connects with a body shot.
Haapalainen gets tackled into the cage by Thachticov. Thachticov maintains the clinch.
Haapalainen crunches a lovely knee into Thachticov's ribcage.
Thachticov lands with a light punch inside.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Thachticov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Haapalainen shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Thachticov to counter with a crisp jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Thachticov scores with the left hand. Haapalainen knows he should have avoided that one.
Thachticov slaps away a takedown attempt from Haapalainen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Haapalainen takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Thachticov!
Thachticov lands a jab.
Haapalainen on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Thachticov fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Haapalainen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thachticov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Haapalainen somewhat.
Thachticov changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Haapalainen is breathing heavily.
Nice uppercut there from Thachticov.
Haapalainen is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Thachticov dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mikko Haapalainen's cut.
That's time! Haapalainen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Haapalainen slips a jab from Thachticov.
Thachticov connects with a single shot there.
Haapalainen has his takedown stuffed
and Thachticov counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Oh Haapalainen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Haapalainen walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Haapalainen limp body while Thachticov jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Thachticov!
A very excited looking John Thachticov made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
